Are you a strong clinical leader looking for a high-impact role where you can truly make a difference? We are seeking a confident and capable Weekend Deputy Director of Nursing (DDON) to oversee operations and clinical care in a large aged care facility during weekends based in the Northern suburbs of Melbourne.
As the most senior leader on site during the weekend, you’ll be responsible for the smooth and safe running of the home, providing clinical oversight, staff support, and leadership continuity in the absence of the Director of Nursing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all aspects of facility operations during the weekend shift
- Provide clinical leadership and decision-making support to nursing and care staff
- Manage incidents, escalations, and risk proactively and professionally
- Ensure resident care is delivered safely and in line with regulatory standards
- Support and mentor junior clinical team members, ensuring continuity of leadership
- Communicate key updates and handovers to weekday leadership teams
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (essential)
- Strong clinical leadership experience, ideally in aged care
- Confident in decision-making and managing operations independently
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure
- Availability to work weekends on a regular, ongoing basis (Saturday and/or Sunday)
