Are you a passionate Chef looking to step into a leadership role where you can truly make a difference?

We are seeking an experienced Chef Manager to lead the kitchen operations at a well-established aged care residence in Beachmere, supporting 100+ residents with high-quality, nutritious meals and an exceptional dining experience.

The Role
This is a full-time, Monday to Friday position, offering a great work-life balance with no late nights. As the Chef Manager, you will oversee the entire kitchen function, lead a team of 5 staff, and drive a home-style dining experience that enhances resident wellbeing.

  • $38.25 – $48.34 per hour + super (depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations and meal service
  • Prepare and present nutritious meals and mid-meals in line with approved menus
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards and accreditation requirements
  • Cater to dietary, cultural, religious, and IDDSI texture-modified needs
  • Lead, mentor, and support kitchen staff (cooks & food service assistants)
  • Manage stock control, ordering, and minimise wastage
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness
  • Engage with residents to enhance dining experience and support events
About You
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a Chef Manager or comparable leadership position
  • Formal qualification in Commercial Cookery (Certificate III or equivalent)
  • Valid Food Safety Supervisor certification
  • Solid knowledge of aged care compliance requirements and IDDSI standards
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and manage a team effectively
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills
