Permanent Nurse Unit Manager - Perioperative Services

Location: Riverina Region, NSW

About the Role:

An exciting leadership opportunity has arisen for a Nurse Unit Manager to oversee a busy day surgery unit in a well-established regional hospital. You will provide high-level clinical leadership, foster a positive and professional workplace culture, and support the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care.

This role will involve working closely with the perioperative team, including senior clinical leaders, to manage day-to-day operations and ensure smooth, efficient workflow. While primarily based in the day surgery unit, you may also be required to support theatre operations at the main hospital campus.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage daily operations of the day surgery unit to ensure efficiency and high standards of patient care.
  • Maintain and promote best-practice clinical standards across the unit.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and the ongoing performance of the service.
  • Support, mentor, and develop nursing staff to foster a positive, collaborative team culture.
About You:
  • Current AHPRA registration.
  • Minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience in the public or private health sector.
  • Proven leadership or management experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
