Facilities Manager

An exciting opportunity exists for a skilled and proactive Facilities Manager to ensure that multiple aged care and community service sites remain safe, compliant, and sustainable, including involvement in future development projects.

Reporting to the Corporate Services Manager, this role will lead the planning, maintenance, and strategic management of buildings, infrastructure, and equipment, ensuring environments that support quality care delivery, staff wellbeing, and operational excellence. The Maintenance Team will report directly to you.

This position oversees lifecycle asset management, capital works, and compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee vendor and contract mangement
  • Develop and implement long-term strategies to support compliance and organisational goals
  • Manage the maintenance team with safety and continuous improvement in mind
  • Implement sustainability intiatives with energy efficiency and environmental performance in mind
  • Ensure all facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained, meeting all regulatory, health, safety, and environmental obligations
  • Oversee maintenance, cleaning, HVAC, and essential systems
  • Maintain accurate asset registers and lifecycle forecasts
  • Manage acquisitions or disposals
  • Oversee Capex and Opex budgets with cost efficiency in mind
  • Prepare and manage OPEX and CAPEX budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and compliance
  • Lead any construction, rennovation or upgrading projects
Essential Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in Facilities Management, Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline
  • Proven experience in facilities and asset management across multiple sites or complex environments (preferably in aged care, health, or community services)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of building compliance, health and safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
  • Strong project management skills, including experience overseeing capital works, refurbishments, and maintenance programs
  • Financial and budgeting acumen, including preparation and management of OPEX and CAPEX budgets
  • Leadership and people management experience, with the ability to motivate, develop, and manage a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of an organisation
  • Proficiency in asset management systems, maintenance scheduling, and reporting tools
  • Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement in service delivery and environmental performance
  • Current driver’s licence and ability to travel between sites as required
