Chef | Aged Care | Sydney's Inner West

A respected, faith-based aged care provider in Sydney's Inner West is seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to lead their kitchen team and create exceptional dining experiences for older people. The Opportunity / Main Duties
  • Lead, supervise and support catering team members
  • Plan and prepare nutritious, seasonal menus offering variety and resident choice
  • Ensure meals meet dietary requirements, allergies, cultural preferences and clinical needs
  • Prepare and oversee texture-modified meals in line with the IDDSI Framework
  • Maintain high standards of food safety, infection prevention and kitchen hygiene
  • Engage with residents and families to understand preferences and incorporate feedback
  • Train, coach and mentor kitchen staff to ensure consistency and excellence
  • Manage stock control, purchasing and cost-effective food utilisation
What We're Looking For
  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent trade qualification
  • Previous experience as a Chef in residential aged care
  • Demonstrated experience preparing texture-modified meals, with a strong understanding of the IDDSI Framework
  • Knowledge of aged care nutrition, menu planning and therapeutic diets
  • Strong leadership, team management and staff development skills
  • Sound knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety regulations
  • Relevant screening clearances and ability to meet aged care compliance requirements
