Key responsibilities
  • Provide person-centred antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care in clinic, birthing suite or community settings.
  • Manage labour and assist with deliveries; escalate to specialty services as required.
  • Perform clinical assessments, create/maintain accurate records and care plans.
  • Deliver health education and community maternal health promotion.
  • Collaborate with GPs, obstetricians and allied health to ensure safe continuity of care.
Candidate requirements
  • Registered Midwife with unrestricted AHPRA registration.
  • Minimum 3 years’ midwifery experience with recent hands-on birth suite competency.
  • Strong clinical decision-making and ability to work autonomously in lower-resource or small-team settings.
  • Current Police Check and Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • Remote/rural experience is preferred but not essential.
  • Must be available for December / January contract windows (shortlisting ongoing).
