An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Clinical Midwifery Educator to join a growing and supportive maternity service within a well-established private healthcare provider.

For candidates who hold dual registration as both a Registered Nurse and Midwife, there is also the opportunity to step into a full-time Educator role supporting both the nursing and midwifery teams.

About the Service The hospital provides a broad range of healthcare services to the local community, including maternity and women’s health, surgical services, and specialist programs. The maternity unit continues to expand and develop, making this an exciting time to join the team.

This role is primarily Monday to Friday, with some flexibility required to support graduate staff and students across varying shifts when needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality clinical education, coaching, and competency assessment to support safe and contemporary midwifery practice
  • Lead education and professional development initiatives for student midwives, graduate midwives, and the wider clinical team
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to strengthen clinical capability and embed evidence-based care
  • Provide hands-on clinical support across antenatal, birthing, and postnatal settings
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and positive patient outcomes
  • Mentor and support staff development within a regional maternity environment
About You
  • Tertiary qualifications in Nursing and Midwifery
  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Minimum 3 years postgraduate clinical experience within nursing and/or midwifery
  • Demonstrated experience in education, teaching, or preceptorship
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven leadership capabilities and ability to support team development
  • Postgraduate qualifications in education highly regarded
