Nurse Unit Manager – PACU / Admissions / Overnight Ward

Location: Sunshine Coast, QLD

Employment: Full-time or Part-time

We are seeking an experienced Surgical Nurse Unit Manager or experienced ANUM looking to step up into a NUM position to join a well-established private hospital on the Sunshine Coast.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a modern, multidisciplinary facility with multiple operating theatres and a strong reputation for clinical excellence, supportive leadership and a genuine commitment to work-life balance.

The hospital operates Monday to Friday, providing an attractive working environment for an experienced nursing leader looking for greater consistency and work-life balance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strong clinical and operational leadership across PACU, Admissions and the Overnight Ward.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing effective leadership and management to the nursing team
  • Developing, implementing and evaluating nursing policies and procedures
  • Supporting evidence-based practice, quality improvement and clinical governance
  • Supporting staff education, development and professional growth
  • Managing clinical risk, OH&S and compliance requirements
  • Building effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including medical practitioners and industry representatives
  • Supporting workforce and resource management, including budgeting and allocation of human and material resources
  • Maintaining high standards of customer and patient experience
  • Contributing to accreditation and continuous improvement initiatives
About You
  • Current AHPRA nursing registration
  • 2–5 years' experience in a senior nursing or management position within a surgical setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in quality, risk management and evidence-based practice
  • Experience developing and implementing clinical policies and procedures
  • Strong organisational, decision-making and problem-solving skills
