Nurse Unit Manager - Theatre

Location: Western Victoria
Hours: Permanent fulltime
Salary: $71.92ph + Super & $18k Salary Packaging
Start Date: ASAP

This role is ideal for an experienced theatre ANUM who is passionate about leadership, wants to make a genuine impact within the local community, and is looking to further progress their career within a respected regional health service.

The Role:
You will oversee two operating theatres and the CSSD department, leading day-to-day operations, workforce coordination, and clinical standards across the service. Working alongside an experienced and stable perioperative team, you will be supported by the current Theatre NUM throughout the transition, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to step into leadership within a collaborative and well-supported environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide operational and clinical leadership across perioperative services
  • Oversee two operating theatres and the CSSD department
  • Coordinate elective and emergency theatre activity
  • Ensure compliance with sterilisation and infection control standards
  • Manage workforce planning, rostering, and staff performance
  • Support and mentor ANUMs, senior clinicians, and perioperative staff
  • Drive quality improvement and accreditation initiatives
  • Maintain efficient theatre flow and day-to-day operational performance
  • Foster a positive and supportive team culture focused on workforce retention
Requirements
  • Current AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse
  • 2+ years Theatre ANUM experience or higher
  • Demonstrated understanding of CSSD operations and sterilisation standards
Desirable
  • Experience overseeing or working closely with CSSD services
  • Previous experience in regional or rural healthcare settings
  • Postgraduate qualification in perioperative nursing
