Opportunities are available across Remote Area Nursing, acute care and chronic disease management, with contracts suitable for nurses who are confident working autonomously within Aboriginal community healthcare settings.
These positions offer excellent earning potential, fully arranged travel and accommodation, and the opportunity to work within culturally rich remote communities as part of an experienced multidisciplinary team.
The role Depending on your experience and the requirements of the clinic, your responsibilities may include:
- Providing comprehensive primary healthcare
- Assessing and treating acute and emergency presentations
- Participating in after-hours and on-call rosters
- Managing chronic disease and coordinating follow-up care
- Delivering health promotion and preventative healthcare
- Conducting health assessments and clinical screening
- Supporting visiting specialist and allied health services
- Working closely with Aboriginal Health Practitioners
- Using remote clinical guidelines and escalation pathways
- Maintaining accurate electronic clinical documentation
- Current unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Recent Remote Area Nursing or Aboriginal primary healthcare experience
- Current BLS completed within the past 12 months or ALS completed within the past three years
- Strong emergency assessment and clinical decision-making skills
- Current National Police Check
- Current Australian driver’s licence
- Relevant working-with-children clearance
- Evidence of mandatory vaccinations
- Australian working rights
- The ability to provide culturally safe and respectful healthcare
- Remote Emergency Care or equivalent
- Maternity Emergency Care or equivalent
- Pharmacotherapeutics qualification
- Immunisation certification
- NT iSTAT or point-of-care testing competency
- After-hours remote assessment training
- QAAMS training
- Experience using Communicare
- Experience using CARPA clinical guidelines
- $84–$90 per hour plus superannuation, depending on experience
- Additional on-call and overtime payments
- Flights and travel fully arranged
